Stop HMO at 323 Wellington Street
Plans have been submitted to convert 323 Wellington Street into a 5-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) for up to 6 people.
We know many residents are already concerned about the impact this could have on parking, noise and the character of the street, and we share those concerns.
That’s why your local Liberal Democrat ward councillors, Cllr Steve Beasant and Cllr Nicola Aisthorpe, stepped in to make sure this proposal was properly examined.
Following our intervention, the application has been reviewed in detail and serious concerns have been identified, including a lack of sufficient evidence to support the proposed change of use.
We are continuing to push for this application to be refused, but it is vital that local voices are heard clearly.
A high concentration of HMOs, without proper oversight, can put pressure on parking, change the character of residential streets, and in some cases lead to increased noise and anti-social behaviour.
STOP HMO AT 323 WELLINGTON STREET
I/we the undersigned oppose the proposed House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) at 323 Wellington Street and call on the council to refuse this application.
