Community Spirit in Action as Volunteers Join Lib Dem Councillors Clean Up
Thirty volunteers joined East Marsh Liberal Democrat councillors for a major community clean-up on Victor Street and the surrounding area, collecting around 60 bags of rubbish and helping to give the neighbourhood a thorough tidy.
Children, families, neighbours and volunteers worked side by side, removing litter and bulky waste and sweeping footpaths.
Some volunteers went even further, clearing leaves and litter from around roadside drains to help keep them clear and improve drainage in the area.
The clean-up was organised as part of ongoing efforts to bring residents together and improve the local environment across East Marsh.
“This is what community spirit looks like. Thirty people gave up their time and, together, we collected around 60 bags of rubbish and made a real difference to the area. What mattered most was seeing children, families and neighbours working side by side for their community. A huge thank you to everyone who came along. This is East Marsh at its best.”
